De Virenze Kasteelconcerten vinden plaats Kasteel Rijckholt, enkele kilometers ten zuiden van Maastricht. Dit uit de 14e eeuw stammende en sfeervolle kasteel is in bezit van het bedrijf Virenze, dat tegelijkertijd ook de naamgever is van de serie. De artistieke leiding is geheel in handen van Peter Caelen. De programmering is zeer veelzijdig wat betreft repertoire en bezetting. Zo reikt het repertoire van de Renaissance tot aan de hedendaagse componisten en is er ruimte voor solorecitals en kamermuziek in allerlei bezettingen. De musici die hun medewerking verlenen zijn van hoog niveau en van allerlei nationaliteiten. Elk seizoen wordt er gestreefd naar een mix van gevestigde en nieuwe namen in de muziekwereld. | The "Virenze Kasteelconcerten" take place at the Castle Rijckholt (Kasteel Rijckholt), just a few kilometres to the south of Maastricht. This classical castle originating from the 14th century is now owned by the Virenze company, which at the same time provides the name for the concert series The artistic direction is entirely in the hands of Peter Caelen. The programming is extremely varied as regards repertoire and line-up. Thus the repertoire stretches from the Renaissance to modern-day composers and within it there is room for solo recitals and chamber music in all sorts of configurations. The musicians who are lending their support to the programme are of the highest standard and of many nationalities. Each season aims to have a mix of proven as well as newer names from the music world.
