Matthieu Idmtal has already made several appearances in our series. After previous performances with violinists and as a soloist, this season he shares the stage with Peter Caelen.

Matthieu Idmtal has emerged as an established performer on the national and international stages. Prize winner of more than 15 international competitions, Matthieu Idmtal has been a guest at the most important Belgian venues such as Bozar, Flagey, De Bijloke, De Singel, Concertgebouw Brugge, Philharmonie de Liège, Handelsbeurs,… and has been part of international festivals such as the Klara Festival, Festival Musiq’3, Les Sommets du Classique (Switzerland), Palermo Classica (Italy), Musicales en Côte Chalonnaise (France), Les Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad (Switzerland), Festival Musical d’Arcangues (France), Festival Zeeuwsch-Vlaanderen (Netherlands), Les Festivals de Wallonie. The pianist now has three CDs to his credit. The last two were awarded “Choice of Klara” by Radio Klara, and received a five-star review by the prestigious music magazine “Classica”. In recent seasons, Matthieu Idmtal gave solo recitals and concerts with orchestra all over Europe. He also greatly enjoys playing chamber music. Since 2013, he has been artistic director of the Brussels Chopin Days, an international concert series entirely dedicated to Chopin.
